Will Hollow Knight Silksong Be Free

What We Know About Hollow Knight Silksong

In February of 2019 Team Cherry announced Hollow Knight’s new game, Silksong. Since then, we have recieved more and more information about the game, leading many to wonder if the game will be free or not. The short answer is, we don’t know for sure. Here is what we do know about Hollow Knight Silksong:

Official Description of the Game

Silksong is a sequel to the popular Hollow Knight game. In this game you play as Hornet, a princess-protector from Hallownest. The game involves exploring and fighting through an expansive world of challenging enemies, bosses, secrets and more.

Possible Pricing Model

While Team Cherry has not officially announced the pricing model for Silksong yet, there have been some clues that point to what it might be. For example, in the first trailer for the game, they show the sentence “players can explore and fight their way through an expansive world,” which could be interpreted as meaning they will be going with an open-world structure. This, combined with the information that the game will have different levels, could mean that they will be using the same pricing model as Hollow Knight, in which the game was released for free on release, and then players were able to purchase additional content afterwards.

So Will Silksong Be Free?

At the moment, we don’t know for sure. Team Cherry has yet to officially announce the pricing model for Silksong, and so until then we can only speculate. The evidence we have so far points to either a open world style of game-play, or the same pricing model as Hollow Knight, both of which would likely mean free on release.

Only time will tell what the pricing model will be, but one thing is certain: Silksong is sure to be an incredible game and will be worth the wait!

Will Hollow Knight Silksong be released on Nintendo Switch?
