Atomic Heart is an action-adventure game with a unique and vibrant world. Its story is set in an alternate Soviet Union in the late 1980s and revolves around P-3, a KGB agent.
P-3 is the protagonist of Atomic Heart. He is an enigmatic character, who is as much a symbol of the intrigues of Cold War politics as he is a gun-toting, robot-bashing action hero.
He is a KGB operative, tasked with putting down a mysterious insurrection in the ‘70s that resulted in the creation of an equally mysterious machine-based race of creatures. He is the only one with the knowledge and skills to take down these robots and prevent the Soviet Union from descending into chaos.
P-3 is not just a regular action hero. In his arsenal of tools he has:
P-3 is the perfect action hero – strong, brave and capable of outsmarting the toughest of opponents. He is the ideal protagonist for Atomic Heart and the ideal choice to take on the robots and save the Soviet Union from chaos.
The P-3 character in Atomic Heart was created by the Russian game studio Mundfish. Its name is a portmanteau of the words “Power” and “Robot”, representing the main protagonist’s combination of power, agility and technology. The P-3 character also has a distinct aesthetic, with its overall red and grey color scheme, angular, metallic design and robotic features. These features all pay homage to their home country while also creating a unique vision of a futuristic world.
