Diablo 4 is the highly anticipated fourth installment of the popular hack-and-slash Diablo series. Since its announcement at BlizzCon 2019, Diablo 4 fans have been eagerly awaiting its release. However, Blizzard has yet to announce the pricing of the game, leaving many players in the dark.
While we still don’t know how much Diablo 4 will cost, we can make some estimates based on the pricing of previous games in the series. Diablo 3 was released in May 2012 for the PC and sold for $60. This is likely to be the starting price of Diablo 4, at least for the standard edition.
It’s also likely that a collector’s edition of Diablo 4 will be released, similar to what Blizzard did with Diablo 3. The collector’s edition of Diablo 3 cost $90 back in 2012, and the pricing of the upcoming collector’s edition is sure to be similar.
Diablo 4 is also likely to feature in-game microtransactions. These microtransactions will probably be for cosmetic items, as Blizzard has confirmed that all gameplay-relevant items in Diablo 4 will drop in-game and that there will be no loot boxes.
At this point, it’s impossible to know how much Diablo 4 will cost until Blizzard announces the pricing. We can expect the standard edition of the game to cost the same as Diablo 3, but the collector’s edition could cost more. The game will also feature in-game microtransactions for cosmetic items.
It will be interesting to see how much Diablo 4 ends up costing when it is finally released, but for now, all we can do is guess.
Diablo 4 is currently scheduled to be released on Windows PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4. There is no official information about a potential release on other platforms, such as the Nintendo Switch.
Diablo 4 will be built on the Snowdrop engine, which is the same engine that was used to create the game Tom Clancy’s The Division 2.
