Released in 2017, Hollow Knight was an immediate success due to its unique visual style and open-ended, Metroidvania-esque gameplay. Now, three years later, the sequel Hollow Knight: Silksong is on its way and fans are eager to explore a new world.

What is the Release Date?

At the time of writing, an official release date for Hollow Knight: Silksong has not been revealed, however a 2021 release window is expected.

What’s the Storyline?

Hollow Knight: Silksong revolves around the Hollow Knight’s bug-like companion, Hornet. The game’s setting is the new kingdom of Pharloom, which is far away from the land of Hallownest, the setting for the original Hollow Knight (2017). Hornet’s quest is to find her way back home and uncover the mysteries of Pharloom.

What New Features Can We Expect?

While the game may still feature many familiar elements, there will be a number of new features that make Hollow Knight: Silksong feel like a whole new game:

• An increased focus on platforming, with Hornet able to jump, climb, hang, and grapple.
• The opportunity to collect new trinkets and royal charms, both of which offer unique bonuses.
• More unique boss fights, with larger and more powerful foes to contend with.
• An extensive crafting system that will allow players to combine pieces of armor and weapons.

Fans of the original Hollow Knight (2017) will no doubt be excited for the upcoming release of Hollow Knight: Silksong, and the new features and storylines it will bring. Unfortunately, we will have to wait a little longer for the official release date to be announced. Until then, we can only stay excited!
