Sons of the Forest is an upcoming survival horror open-world game where the player takes control of an unnamed protagonist. The game revolves around making weapons to survive in a hostile environment full of hostile mutants. As the story progresses, the protagonist needs to acquire better weapons to complete his objectives.
Melee Weapons
Knives: These are the only weapons the player can equip from the start of the game. They are lightweight and fast, but the damage done is low.
Axes: Axes are a good choice for mid-range melee combat, as they have higher damage than Knives and a greater reach.
Maul/Hammer: These weapons have a huge impact, dealing significant damage to enemies. Its slow attack speed means you need to anticipate enemy attacks and time your strikes in order to maximize damage.
Ranged Weapons
Pistols: Pistols are the basic ranged weapon that the player can equip from the start of the game. They are accurate and reliable but lack stopping power.
Rifles: Rifles are a big step up from pistols, providing greater range and accuracy, as well as more damage. The drawback is the slow rate of fire.
Shotguns: Shotguns are devastating at close range but lack accuracy if enemies are far away. They fire a spread of pellets instead of one projectile, so enemies within range are likely to be hit.
Explosive Weapons
Grenades: Grenades can deal a lot of damage in a small area. They are effective against groups of enemies and difficult to dodge.
Mines: Mines are a good way to set up traps for unsuspecting enemies. They can be armed with a timer or proximity trigger and can be effective against both ground targets and vehicles.
Rocket Launcher: The Rocket Launcher is the most powerful weapon in Sons of the Forest. It has an immense destructive power and can easily take out hordes of enemies.
Sons of the Forest has a wide variety of weapons to choose from, allowing players to customize their playstyle. Whether you’re using melee weapons to get up close and personal or using explosives to clear out large areas, the choice is in your hands.
